I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.........

Coral Sands Hotel

What am I doing here?

Got to bed around 3am and woke at 9am. Fast swim and then dress. Leave the Coral Sands Hotel. The nicest place. Right on the beach one of the nicest people working here. It go over to Sue's radio show 96.5 FM (NY areas) or www.wild96fm.com
broadcast from The Golden Sands Hotel.. Get there about 11:15. Folks were lined up outside to get there take out Souse, and coconut bread. Met up with all there, was introduced to probably  9 people who were going to speak,  and then in a short space of time we are on air.

Some really good work has been done to get some needed equipment for several schools here in Barbados. A couple of Principal's from those schools tell a little about their students. Also the night before Pic-O-De+Crop competition gets reported. As with the night before everyone had Strong opinions and reasons why this performer or that did well, poorly, Got a full history lesson from them. The hour or so on air went quickly.

Then to the Restaurant there for Souse and Karaoke! The place is packed both with those eating in and taking out. Bobbi, Ann, and Margaret come to meet me. We get  a table. BUT no chicken souse left. Others get some souse. Order the BBQ chicken for me and all get Banks Beers too. The Karaoke starts and the conversation flows.

All too soon saying our goodbyes. Bobbi and I get in her car. We know where Rude is hanging our and we are joining him. We are on a long winding road. Pass a house, that to me is just another house. Where are we going? Park, and walk towards the backyard. Garry's Bar! Nice location. Trees all around, Mangoes, Plum, Palms, a great little Bar. Its a hidden gem..Nice music...even a hammock!  "Hello Rude." He is with his friends, Wayne and Adrian. Introductions all made I get some of Garry's home made Rum Punch and,  even some chicken souse. Amazingly delicious.

Some of the crew

Pretty nice!

Best part of Souse

The afternoon passes with great conversation and much laughter flowing..as well as the rum..Garry's RumPunch with Coconut is so very good!.Stories and comments keep all lively. Seems that I may get another home cooked meal while here. Rude insists his cod fish is the best ever. I am willing to check it out!..Too soon  the Sun is retreating for the day. All reluctantly say good bye. Want to return to this spot....Happy Me!
